Materials and Properties

Bi:2223; [Bi(Pb)-Sr(Ba)-Ca-Cu-O]
Material Specification for Bi:2223; [Bi(Pb)-Sr(Ba)-Ca-Cu-O] Process: Solid State Reaction
Notes: "Samples... were prepared by the solid-state reaction. High purity Bi2O3, PbO, SrCO3, BaCO3, CaCO3 and CuZO were used. Approximate amounts of the component materials were mixed and ground in an agate mortar followed by calcination at temperature of 800 °C for 48 h. The resulting powders were pressed into a pellet of 12 mm in diameter and about 2 mm in thickness with a hydraulic press. The applied pressure was about 4000 kg cm-2. Each pellet was heated near its melting point and quenched to room temperature."
