Notes: "... the synthesis was performed from the mixture of oxides (1-x/2)La2O3, xPbO2, 1CuO... in evacuated silica ampoules. The initimate mixtures of oxides were pelletized, placed in alumina crucibles and heated at temperatures ranging from 900 °C to 950 °C for 24 to 72 h. The samples were quenched at room temperature. Subsequent annealings at low temperature, 450 °C, for two to three days under oxygen pressures ranging from (1 MPa to 4 MPa = 10 bar to 40 bar) were then performed."

"X-ray powder diffraction patterns were registered by step scanning over an angular range of 20 ≤ 2θ ≤ 100° in increment of 0.05° with a Philips diffractometer using CuKα radiation. The Bragg reflections were used to refine the lattice parameters and the crystal structure with the profile refinement computer program DBW 3.2."
