Materials and Properties

Bi:2212; [Bi-Sr-Ca(Ho)-Cu-O]
Material Specification for Bi:2212; [Bi-Sr-Ca(Ho)-Cu-O] Process: Solid State Reaction
Notes: "... compounds were prepared by the solid state reaction technique. Stoichiometric amounts of Bi2O3, SrCO3, CaCO3, Ho2O3 and CuO were thoroughly mixed and calcined at 830 °C for 12 h. The x=0 compound was prepared by heating the calcined material at 860 °C for 12 h followed by heating at 870 °C for 12 h with intermittent grindings. Then they were made into 8 mm pellets and sintered at 870 °C for 12 h. For the Ho-doped samples, higher temperatures of 900-910 °C had to be used to achieve single phase materials."
