Materials and Properties

Y:124; [Y-Ba-Cu(Fe)-O]
Y:124; [Y-Ba-Cu(Co)-O]
Material Specification for Y:124; [Y-Ba-Cu(Fe)-O] Process: Solid State Reaction
Notes: "The samples... were synthesized under high oxygen pressure. Appropriate amounts of BaCO3 and corresponding oxide powders with more than 99.9% purity were mixed thoroughly and calcined three times at 900 °C under flowing oxygen for 12 h with intermediate grinding... They were pressed into pellets and reacted at 980 °C, 1010 °C and 1040 °C for 6 h in the gas mixture of 80% Ar and 20% O2 at the pressure of 200 MPa, i.e. oxygen partial pressure of 40 MPa, by using an O2-HIP (hot isostatic pressing) apparatus made by Kobe Steel Co. Ltd."

"Superconducting transitions were determined by both resistivity and magnetization; the former was measured by the standard four-probe method and the latter was obtained with a superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) magnetometer while cooling in a field of (796 A/m = 10 Oe)." No additional measurement details were noted.
