Materials and Properties

YSr:123; [Y-Sr-Cu(Mo)-O
TbSr:123; [Tb-Sr-Cu(Mo)-O]
Material Specification for YSr:123; [Y-Sr-Cu(Mo)-O] Process: Solid State Reaction
Notes: "Polycrystalline samples... were prepared by solid-state reaction of high purity Y2O3, SrCO3, CuO, and Mo combined in appropriate proportions. The thoroughly-mixed powder was compacted and fired for (about) 3 h at 1000 °C to 1050 °C in an O2-atmosphere, flowing at a rate of 250-500 cm3/min. It was then slow-cooled to room temperature for (about) 14 h."
Formula: YSr2Cu2.8Mo0.2Ox
Informal Name: YSr:123
Chemical Family: Y-Sr-Cu(Mo)-O
Chemical Class: Oxide
Structure Type: Polycrystalline

"Bar samples of dimensions... 4 x 1 x 0.5 mm3 were cut from the pellets... Platinum leads were pressure-attached to these samples with In-contacts. A standard four-probe technique operating at 16 Hz was employed... The temperature was measured with a chromel-alumel thermocouple and a Gethermometer in various ranges... The hydrostatic pressure environment was provided by a Be-Cu high-pressure clamp with a Teflon cell using 3M fluorinert liquid as the pressure medium. The pressure was determined by a superconducting Pb-manometer placed next to the sample inside the cell."
