Materials and Properties

CaLa:123; [Ca-La(Ba)-Cu-O]
Material Specification for CaLa:123; [Ca-La(Ba)-Cu-O] Process: Solid State Reaction
Notes: "Samples were prepared by a solid-state reaction between CaCO3, La2O3, BaCO3 and CuO powders. Appropriate amounts of the powder were mixed and calcined at 900 °C and 950 °C for 20 h in air with intermediate grindings. The powder was pressed into pellets of diameter 20 mm. The pellets were fired for 10 h at 950 °C and then annealed for 20 h in air at temperatures between 400 and 1000 °C at 50 °C intervals. Oxygen contents in the pellets are varied by the different annealing temperature. Samples with various oxygen content were prepared by quenching the pellets from the annealing temperature to liquid nitrogen... Oxygen content was determined by an iodometric titration method with an accuracy of ±0.02."
