Material Specification for Bi:2223; [Bi(Pb)-Sr-Ca-Cu(Mn)-O] Process: Solid State Reaction
Notes: "Samples... were prepared using the conventional solid state reaction method. Chemically pure powders of Bi2O3, PbO, SrCO3, CaCO3, CuO, MnO2, Fe2O3 and ZnO were used as starting materials. The powders were mixed in the appropriate amounts in acetone in an agate mortar and calcined in air at 820 °C for 5 h. The resulting materials were ground, pressed into pellets and sintered at 850 °C for 100 h with several intermediate grindings and pressings. The pellets were cooled at 0.2 °C/min to 700 °C, 0.1 °C to 200 °C and then cooled to room temperature with the furnace turned off. All samples were heat treated in alumina boats."
