Material Specification for Y:247; [Y-Ba-Cu-O] Process: Solid State Reaction
Notes: The authors cite J.Y. Genoud et al., Physica C, Vol. 192, 137 (1992), and summarize the procedure as follows. "The high-purity ceramic samples were prepared using the high-pressure and high-temperature synthesis technique (2 MPa O2, 1020 °C). A subsequent heat treatment at specified temperatures and oxygen pressures, followed by quenching into liquid gallium, was performed to vary and homogenize the oxygen concentration."

Measurement Method: SQUID magnetometer
"A RF SQUID magnetometer was used for all magnetic measurements. For Meissner measurements (field cooling), the field was calibrated by means of a high-purity Pb sphere in the Meissner state. We took into account the demagnetization factor of the samples (both for Pb and Y2Ba4Cu7Ox). The Meissner flux expulsion was recorded in (1.59 kA/m = 20 Oe)."
