Materials and Properties

Bi:2223; [Bi(Pb)-Sr-Ca-Cu-O:Ag]
Material Specification for Bi:2223; [Bi(Pb)-Sr-Ca-Cu-O:Ag] Process: Solid State Reaction
Notes: "The compound... was prepared by the solid state ceramic technique. Appropriate quantities of Bi2O3, PbO, SrCO3, CaCO3 and CuO, all of 4 N purity, were thoroughly mixed, ground and calcined in air at 835 °C for 24 h. The calcination was carried out twice. The calcined powder was ground and five bar-shaped (45 x 4 x 3 mm3) specimens were prepared by using this pure calcined powder as well as after mixing it with varying amounts of AgNO3 corresponding to a silver concentration of 5, 10, 20 and 50% by weight. All the specimens were finally sintered at 840 °C for 48 h and furnace cooled to room temperature."
