Materials and Properties

Tl:2212; [Tl-Ba-Ca-Cu-O]
Material Specification for Tl:2212; [Tl-Ba-Ca-Cu-O] Process: Laser Ablation
Notes: "Tl-2212 films were prepared... by laser ablation from a mixed oxide target onto LaAlO3 substrates (at 300 K) followed by a post-deposition thermal process. Depositions used a Lumonics KrF excimer laser (249 nm) with laser-pulse repetition rate of 10 Hz; the deposition time was varied to give the desired thickness. The films were then heated for several minutes at 830-900 °C in a thallium atmosphere (to prevent loss of Tl2O3). Final film thicknesses were about 9000 σ. X-ray diffraction scans show the films are oriented with c-axis normal to the LaAlO3 substrate surface."

Measurement Method: Reflectance method
"... we present reflection measurements... and use a Kramers-Kronig... analysis... to obtain... the frequency-dependent conductivity and dielectric function... Reflectance measurements were made... with an IBM-Bruker (IR98) Fourier transform interferometer in a temperature controlled cryostat in the energy range from 80-5000 cm-1 (0.01-0.625 eV) and with a grating monochromator from 4800-12000 cm-1 (0.60-1.48 eV)... For Tc, the penetration depth (was) estimated..."
