Material Specification for PbSr:2213; [Pb-Sr-Y(Ca)-Cu-O] Process: Flux Growth
Notes: The authors cite C. Changkang et al., J. Cryst. Growth, Vol. 118, 101 (1992), and summarize the procedure as follows. "... crystals were grown by spontaneous nucleation from a PbO-NaCl flux in air. No chemical precursor was used. The starting materials, SrCO3, Y2O3, CaCO3, CuO and PbO in the molar ratio 2:025:0.5:3:3 were thoroughly milled, placed in a platinum crucible and covered by NaCl. The crucible was heated up to 1005 °C at 300 °C/h, held at this temperature for 10 h and then cooled to 900 °C at 10 °C/h and to 760 °C at 0.5 °C/h. The resulting crystals were separated mechanically and washed in methanol. The crystals used for the present measurements were about 1 x 1 x 0.5 mm3."

Measurement Method: Vibrating sample magnetometer
"DC magnetisation measurements to identify the irreversibility temperature were carried out in field-cooled (FC) and in zero-field-cooled (ZFC) mode by a vibrating sample magnetometer... in a field of (5 mT = 50 G)... The temperature at which... the two curves (FC and ZFC) diverged (is defined as the irreversibility temperature)..."
