Materials and Properties

Y:123; [Y-Ba-Cu-O:Ag]
Bi:2223; [Bi(Pb)-Sr-Ca-Cu-O:Ag]
Material Specification for Y:123; [Y-Ba-Cu-O:Ag] Process: Solid State Reaction
Notes: The authors cite K. Osamura et al., Supercond. Sci. Technol., Vol. 3, 143 (1990) and summarize the procedure as follows. "The silver sheathed oxide tapes... were prepared by the powder-in-tube method. Firstly, the composite was deformed by various cold-working techniques; grooved rolling (G), swaging (S), drawing (D) and cross-rolling (C). After these workings, the composites were pressed and heat-treated. The principal conditions of heat treatment were at 1113 K for 360 ks for Bi2223 tapes and at 1203 K for 72 ks."
