Material Specification for Bi:2212; [Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O] Process: Solid State Reaction
Notes: "A powdered sample of the high-Tc superconducting phase (2212) has been prepared following a classical method (Bi2O3, CuO; CaCO3 and SrCO3 as precursors). The preparation temperature under air was 815 °C. Various heating treatments at 870 °C were carried out after grinding."

Measurement Method: Neutron diffraction
"The... sample was studied by neutron diffraction under pressure, on a classical high angle resolution diffractometer using a wavelength of 1.91 σ (D1A at ILL-Grenoble). The sample is pressed in a cell made of maraging steel under an hydrostatic pressure of (1 GPa = 10 kbar). The pressure transmitting medium was a specific inert liquid of fluorcarbon compound. In order to obtain accurate values of the cell parameters, the wavelength was calibrated with nickel as a standard. ... A Rietveld refinement program was used to determine the three cell parameters."
