Materials and Properties

[Y-Pd-B-C]
[Y-Pd-B-C]
Material Specification for ; [Y-Pd-B-C] Process: Melt Processed
Notes: "Our samples were prepared by arc-melting. Starting materials were Y shavings (99.99% purity), Pd powder (>99.99% purity), and coarse powders of C (99.99% purity) and B (99.6% purity). Samples of 0.6-0.75 g total weight were first pressed into (0.635 cm = 0.25 in) pellets. They were then arc-melted under Ar on a standard water-cooled copper hearth two or three times, with the button turned over between each melt."
