Material Specification for Hg:1212; [Hg-Ba-Ca(Y)-Cu-O]
Process: Solid State Reaction
Notes: The authors cite R.L. Meng et al., Physica C, Vol. 216, 21 (1993), and summarize the procedure as follows. "All samples were synthesized by the two-step Hg-vapor/solid reaction method... The precursor and HgO-contained reactant pellets were sealed in evacuated quartz tube, placed in a stainless steel container and sintered at 820-850 °C for 5-12 h. The sintered samples were then post-annealed at 300 °C for 8 h in flowing oxygen atmosphere. Single-phase samples were verified through the powdered x-ray diffraction."

Measurement Method: Susceptibility method
"...magnetic susceptibility... measurements were performed on powdered samples (zero field cooled)... Superconducting transition temperatures T
c from magnetic measurements were defined as the appearance of diamagnetic signal... The T
c onset was defined as the downturn of the paramagnetic signal." No additional measurement details were noted.
Cautions: Unevaluated Data
"No superconducting transition can be detected down to 5 K for x ≥ 0.5..."
Digitized data were obtained from Fig. 3 of the paper.
