Materials and Properties

Gd:123; [Gd(Pr)-Ba-Cu-O]
Material Specification for Gd:123; [Gd(Pr)-Ba-Cu-O] Process: Solid State Reaction
Notes: The authors cite A. Kevede et al., Phys. Rev. B, Vol. 40, 4453 (1989), and summarize the procedure as follows. "The samples... were prepared... by a conventional solid-state reaction technique. Stoichiometric amounts of high purity compounds, BaCO3, Y2O3, Pr6O11 and CuO were thoroughly mixed and pelletised. The samples were calcined several times. For x ≥ 0.5, the calcination temperature was 950 °C and for x < 0.5, it was 900 °C... Final heat treatment was given in a flowing oxygen atmosphere at the respective calcination temperatures and the pellets were allowed to stay at 500 °C for 12 h while cooling."
