Materials and Properties

Y:124; [Y-Ba-Cu-O]
Material Specification for Y:124; [Y-Ba-Cu-O] Process: Solid State Reaction
Notes: "... nearly single-phase 1:2:4 (was) prepared by mixing stoichiometric proportions of Y2O3, Ba(NO3)2, and CuO with up to a 0.2 mol fraction of NaNO3 or KNO3, prereacting as a loose powder for 30 min, then grinding, die pressing pellets, and reacting for at least 12 h at 800 °C in flowing oxygen. Phase purity is improved with repeated grinding and sintering."
