Bi:2212; [Bi-Sr-Ca(Eu)-Cu-O]
Material Specification for Bi:2212; [Bi-Sr-Ca(Eu)-Cu-O] Process: Solid State Reaction
Notes: "The Bi2Sr2Ca1-xEuxCu2O8+y samples... were prepared by a solid state reaction starting from stoichiometric mixtures of high-purity Bi2O3, SrCO3, CaCO3, Eu2O3 and CuO... All samples were first calcinated in air at 840 °C for 20 h and then ground. The thermal treatment and grounding procedure was repeated at subsequent temperatures of 850 °C (10 h), 860 °C (10 h) and 870 °C (10 h)."

Measurement Method: Neutron diffraction
"The neutron diffraction spectra were collected by the Mini-Sfinks facility operating at the steady state 16 MW reactor... This time-of-flight diffractometer uses a Fourier-type chopper for the modulation of the beam intensity and a online synthesis of the spectrum in the time domain. The toal flight path from the chopper via the sample to the scintillation detector is about 7 m. The powder diffraction patterns... were analyzed by the Rietveld profile refinement method."

Measurement Method: Ac susceptibility
"The AC susceptibility of the samples was measured using a mutual inductance bridge where the basic circuit consists of two identical coil sets: a test frame and a compensator. All the measurements were done by applying a sinusoidal field of (111.4 A/m = 1.4 Oe) (H ) at the frequency of 1 kHz."
