Tl:121; [Tl-Ba(La)-Cu-O]
Material Specification for Tl:121; [Tl-Ba(La)-Cu-O] Process: Solid State Reaction
Notes: "Samples... were prepared by the solid state reaction method. Appropriate amounts of powders of Tl2O3 (99.9%), BaO2 (99%), La2O3 and CuO (99.99%) were thoroughly mixed, ground and pressed into pellets of 9.5 mm diam. and about 2 mm thickness. The pellets were enclosed in a gold tube of about 12.5 cm in diam. and 10 cm in length. The tube was sealed on both ends and was placed in a furnace that was preheated to a temperature of 600 °C. Temperature was raised to 870 °C in about 1.5 h and maintained for 1 h. Thereafter, the temperature was lowered to 710 °C in 1 h and the tube was removed from the furnace and cooled to room temperature. The resulting samples were reground and pelletized and again heated at 870 °C for a brief interval of 15 min."
