Materials and Properties

Y:123; [Y(Ca)-Ba-Cu(Al)-O]
Material Specification for Y:123; [Y(Ca)-Ba-Cu(Al)-O] Process: Solid State Reaction
Notes: "A series of sintered samples... were prepared by mixing Y2O3, Al2O3, BaCO3, CaCO3, and CuO powders in stoichiometric proportion and firing in air at 920 °C for 24 h. The powders were reground and reheated at 925 °C for 24 h. This processing was repeated 3 times with the firing temperature successively raised by 5 °C each time. Finally, the powders were pressed into pellets, annealed in flowing oxygen at 945 °C for 48 h, and cooled to room temperature at the rate of 25 °C/h."
