"A commercial as-received 3Y-TZP nanosize powder (Tioxide Specialties, England) was used in the present study. The green bodies were prepared using single action die pressing followed by cold isostatic pressing. The pellets were fired at different temperatures in the range 1150 °C - 1450 °C, in order to obtain the 3Y-TZP ceramic with various levels of porosity. ... the porosity was examined using polished and thermally etched specimens in a scanning electron microscope (SEM)."
