Comment:
1.4 L CH3OD were adsorbed onto Pd(111)-(1x1) at 90 K. The substrate was cleaned by cycles of Ar+ ion bombardment (Ep = 600 - 1000 eV, j = 2 microampres cm-2, T = 1050 K), annealing (T = 1200 K) and O2 treatment (p = 1E-5 Pa, T = 1000 K).
