50 L CH3OD/1L O2/Pd(111)-(1x1). The substrate was cleaned by cycles of Ar+ ion bombardment (Ep = 800 eV, j = 5 microamperes cm-2, T = 1000 K), oxygen treatment (p = 1E-5 Pa, T = 1050 K, time = 20 min) and annealing (T = 1100 K, time = 60 - 120 min).
