Comment:
2 L CH3I/Pd(111). CH3I was adsorbed at 100 K and annealed at 200, 250, 300, 400, 700, or 950 K. The carbon line was absent. The Pd substrate was cleaned by cycles of O2 treatment, Ar+ ion bombardment, flashing and annealing.
