   A small excess of 1-brom-2-chlorobenzene in water was agitated at room temperature for a period of about 24 hours and then filtered. The saturated filtrate solution was diluted and assayed spectrophotometrically. Two independent determinations were called out.

   (1) Aldrich commercial grade, used as received.
   (2) Deionized.
