Method/Apparatus/Procedure:
Steel optical cell in large aluminum block furnace. Cell contents stirred by magnetically operated stirrer. Pressure measured using a steel-sheathed thermocouple. Components charged into cell and one phase-two phase boundaries observed visually. Critical properties determined from boundary envelopes.
Source and Purity of Materials:
(1) Analytical grade product fractionally distilled, purity 99.9 mole per cent.
(2) Distilled and degassed.
Estimated Errors:
Temperature: deltaT/K = 0.4
Pressure: deltaP/P = ± 0.02 (estimated by compiler)
