Method/Apparatus/Procedure:
The saturated solution of (1) in (2) was prepared by either shaking vigorously on a reciprical shaker or stirring for several days with a magnetic stirrer.
A 0.05 mL or 0.10 mL sample of the hydrocarbon-saturated water was injected directly into a gas liquid chromatograph.
Source and Purity of Materials:
(1) Phillips Petroleum Co.; 99+%; used as received.
(2) distilled.
