Method/Apparatus/Procedure:
Constant temperature bath, thermometer, and a precision balance. Excess solute and solvent placed in closed glass container and allowed to equilibrate for several hours at constant temperature. Aliquots of saturated solutions were transferred into tared containers and weighed. Solubilities calculated from weight of solid residue that remained after solvent had evaporated.
Source and Purity of Materials:
(1) 95 % initial purity, Urxovy Zavady, Czech., was recrystallized several times from pyridine and cyclohexane to give a final purity of 98.3 %.
(2) 99 %, Commercial sample, source and purification method was not specified.
