Method/Apparatus/Procedure:
Standard solutions were prepared in 100 cm
3
flasks. They were shaken for 5 minutes and then allowed to equilibrate in a constant temperature bath held at 30
o
C for 24 hours. Samples were pipetted into headspace vials, sealed, thermostated, and then examined by the gas chromatographic head space analysis technique. An F. & M. Model 402 gas chromatograph equipped with dual columns and dual flame ionization detectors was used.
Source and Purity of Materials:
(1) Chemical Service, West Chester, PA., USA., purest grade available used as received.
(2) Distilled and run through two Barnstead purification cartridges.
Estimated Errors:
Solubility: ± 36.4 ppm std. dev.
Temperature: ± 0.5 K (compiler).
