bottles were filled with distilled deionized water and sealed. A measured volume of dibromochloromethane was injected into the bottles through each bottle septum using a microliter syringe. The solute was in excess of the anticipated solubility limit. The bottles were shaken for one hour with a wrist-action shaker and allowed to equilibrate for about three weeks. Samples were then injected into a gas chromatograph equipped with a Carbopack column and a FID detector. The GC response was compared with the calibration plot.
Source and Purity of Materials:
(1) Probably a commercial reagent, at least 99 % purity, used as received.
(2) Distilled and deionized.
