Method/Apparatus/Procedure:
A mixture of trichloromethane and water was placed in a glass stoppered flask and was shaken intermittently for at last three days in a water bath held at constant temperature. The organic phase was analyzed for water content by the Karl Fischer titration  method, whereas the aqueous phase was analyzed interferometrically.
