Method/Apparatus/Procedure:
A mixture of water and trichloromethane was agitated overnight and left at equilibrium for 24 hours. Three samples were withdrawn from each phase using a syringe and analyzed using gas chromatography. The gas chromatograph (C. Erba ATc/t) was equipped with a  Shimadzu Chromatopac E-1A integrator. The stainless column was packed with 100 - 200 mesh Chromosorb W DMCD coated with heptadecane nitrile.

Source and Purity of Materials:
   (1) Fluka reagent, further purified by distillation before use.
   (2) Distilled (compiler).

Estimated Errors:
   Solubility: Not specified.
   Temperature: ± 0.1 K.
