The water content of a liquid mixture was determined in a specially constructed apparatus which consisted of a 250 cm

flask, a Vigreux type column, two water condensers, a U-shaped measuring tube, an electric heater, and a thermometer. The vol ume of water was determined in a calibrated tube with an accuracy of 0.01 cm
