Method/Apparatus/Procedure:
The original method and apparatus for the determination of Henry's law constant, as described by Mackay et al. (ref. 1), was used. The general procedure was to add an excess quantity of dichloromethane to distilled deionized water, place the sample in a thermostat bath, and provide overnight mixing. A portion of this solution was returned to the stripping vessel. Dichloromethane was stripped isothermally from the solution at a known gas flow rate. The Henry's law constant was calculated from the log of the concentration versus time plot. The experimental data values are averages of two or more replicates.
