Unit for α is cm3 (STP) cm-3 atm-1

Method/Apparatus/Procedure:
Humidified gas dissolves in water. After equilibrium established 1 cm3 sample withdrawn and analyzed with manometric Van Slyke apparatus. It was claimed that deionised, distilled water gave the same results as acidified water.

Source and Purity of Materials:
   (1) Commercial sample, no othe details given.
   (2) Distilled acidified with hydrochloric acid (0.01 mol dm-3).

Estimated Errors:

   Temperature: δT/K = ± 0.1.
