Method/Apparatus/Procedure:
An excess quantity of pentachloroethane was added to water and stirred vigorously for 24 hours. After the sample was allowed to settle at 25 °C for 48 hours, the solution was extracted with cyclohexane. The samples were analyzed by an Aminco-Bowman spectrophotofluorometer. A detailed description of the method has been reported elsewhere.
