Method/Apparatus/Procedure:
The titration method was used to determine the binodal curve. The refraction indexes of mixtures were measured to construct the calibration curve, which was then used to find the concentration of ethanol in both phases at equilibrium.
Source and Purity of Materials:
(1) Source not specified, dehydrated; distilled; b.p.=78.0°C, n(20°C,D)=1.3596.
(2) Source not specified; doubly distilled; b.p.=68.5°C, n(26°C,D)=1.3751.
(3) Doubly distilled.
