Method/Apparatus/Procedure:
   The initial nitrate was doped with 22892Th, in such a way to obtain ~10 μCi/g activity.The Th(CHO2)4•3H2O obtained from this nitrate was put in the contact with different organic solvents in saturated solutions. One mL of each solution was measured for radioactivity for a definite time. One g/L Th(CHO2)4•3H2O was used as standard solution giving 0.01 μCi/mL.

Source and Purity of Materials:
   Thorium formate trihydrate was prepared from a dilute solution of formic acid (40%) and Th(OH) 4.
