Method/Apparatus/Procedure:
The isothermal method was used. Three weeks were allowed for equilibration. The lithium content of both phases was determined by flame photometry in the presence of 0.1 M Al(NO
3
)

was determined complexometrically. The composition of the solid phases was determined by Schreinemakers' method and controlled crystallo-optically.

The formates were prepared by neutralization of formic acid with the corresponding oxides, hydroxides or carbonates.
