Experimental Remarks:

The mole fraction of nitroethane in the (2)-rich phase at equilibrium at 298 K was reported to be x1 = 0.2540, corresponding 100 w1 = 22.87 (compiler).
The mole fraction of nitroethane in the (1)-rich phase at equilibrium at 298 K was reported to be x1 = 0.7815, corresponding 100 w1 = 75.70 (compiler).

Experimental Data:   (Notes on the Nomenclature)
   Method/Apparatus/Procedure:
These data are from a study of the enthalpy of mixing of (1) and (2) by microflow calorimetry. No experimental details given.

Source and Purity of Materials:
   (1) Matheson, Coleman and Bell; practical grade; distilled; b. p. = 57°C/12.9 kPa, n(25 °C,D) = 1.389 50.
   (2) Fisher; distilled from over CaH2; n(25 °C,D) = 1.372 40, p(30 °C) = 650.38 g·L-1.

Estimated Errors:

   Temperature: control to ±0.02 K
