Method/Apparatus/Procedure:
The synthetic method was used. The solubilities of (2) in (1) were determined in sealed tubes by the method and apparatus described in Ralston et al.

and Hoerr and Ralston.

Source and Purity of Materials:
(1) Source not specified; best grade reagent; dried and twice distilled.
(2) Obtained from the ketoesters by hydrolyzing the latter with 5 % alcoholic potassium hydroxide; purified by several recrystallization from ethanol; f. p. = 69.3°C
