Method/Apparatus/Procedure:
A 1 to 15 volume ratio mixture of water and 1-chloropentane was introduced into an equilibration flask and then lowered into the waterbath thermostat. The assembly was shaken mechanically for about 90 minutes at a constant temperature. The amount of water in the organic phase was determined by a modified Karl Fischer titration. The determination was done in triplicate. The description of procedure was taken from a secondary source.
