Method/Apparatus/Procedure:
   The isothermal method was used. The methods of analysis are not described. The composition of the solid phases was determined by the Schreinemakers' method.

Source and Purity of Materials:
   The calcium and magnesium formates were prepared by the action of pure acid on the corresponding hydroxides. The salt was obtained by evaporation and was recrystallized twice from water.

   Temperature: The temperature was controlled to within ±0.02 °C. No other information is given.
