Method/Apparatus/Procedure:
The method used was as described elsewhere.
1
Samples of varying composition and 4 g total weight were sealed in glass ampoules and then immersed in a thermostated bath equipped with a platinum resistance thermometer. The ampoule contents were continuously mixed by a rolling glass bead inside the ampoule, which was swung mechanically. The miscibility temperature was determined by repeatedly observing the disappearance/appearance of turbidity when heating or cooling.
Composition: better than 0.0001 mole fraction.
Source and Purity of Materials:
(1) Source not specified; purified by fractional distillation at atmospheric pressure; purity 99.9 mass % by GLC.
(2) Source not specified; purified by fractional distillation at sub atmospheric pressure; purity greater than 99.9 mass % by GLC.
Estimated Errors:
Temperature: ± 0.01 K.
